Hey guys/gals,
I've got an older home that needs a few things completed around the house. Normally, I would handle these types of things but work has me away until May of 2020.
I need to replace hardware on 4-5 doors and also replace another door (all interior doors). I also need to replace our front door as there is some moisture damage and also repair some sub-flooring and wood flooring at the front door. Lastly, there is some shoe molding that needs correcting and painting to be done.
This work can easily be tackled by a weekend warrior type that is looking for side work.
Any recs for people that you have used in the past for this type work? I'm very detailed orientated so i'm looking for a professional to tackle the job.
I actually hired someone to hang the 4-5 doors and he did a terrible job, i learned the simple lessor of you get what you pay for.

If you have a friend/family member willing to do it, go for it. The days of skilled labor looking for "side jobs" is over though. You will either end up with very much UNskilled labor, or paying a premium for what amounts to small/annoying jobs. If you want it done right, bite the bullet and pay for a proper craftsman. Otherwise I would plan on making the time for DIY.
