Call to La One Call - UPDATED with results

I'm a little confused. I have some trenching to do across my property and was going to submit a work order to 811. Their website describes the process as follows:
I guess I was under the impression that I would mark the area to be trenched and they would come out to scan it for electrical. But it sounds like they contact the service provider (in this case Slemco) to come out? Do they even do it on my property or just up from Slemco's service line to the house? I've got a detached building on the property that is connected to from the main house but I'm unsure of the path that was run to get it back there.

When you call or click to file a locate request, we use a sophisticated computerized mapping system to notify members whose facilities are likely to be affected by your excavation or demolition.
Our members respond by marking their cables, pipelines, and similar systems so that you can avoid them. We record all notification calls and keep them on file for three years in case disputes arise.

One call just sort of organizes all the utilities. You will mark your trench line and then select how many feet on either side. I would probably just mark your whole property, but I like to mark the whole thing incase plans change.
Once you call in your ticket with 811 the utility companies have 2 working days to mark their stuff.
Slemco will mark their stuff up to the meter. After the meter is all on you.
This is on you, but a good electrician will have the tools necessary to trace the wire in the ground. Or maybe if you catch the slemco guy they can help you out. They wont take responsibility for it though.

Well hell....I already know where the slemco line comes into my meter.
This is going to be interesting. I wasn't planning to call an electrician.....it's a plumbing project that is calling for the trenching.
guess i'm going to have to try and catch the Slemco guy.

From my experience you may have a hard time getting them to locate for an outbuilding. That belongs to you, not them. I had the same issue on a gas line from a propane tank. This was also for a plumbing project, and had nothing to do with the gas. Maybe Slemco will come thru for you.

A plumber should have a tracer as well.
Your plumber might have it, give them a call. They may not be comfortable going into an electrical panel and using the wire out to the shed to trace it though.

lol....this was a DIY plumbing project so i wasn't planning to get a plumber involved either.
I can locate the breaker that feeds power to the outbuilding. I'm thinking that i need to get the slemco guy involved and give him some cash to give me an idea of where the line is run. I can they turn the breaker off and delicately dig to confirm his find of a line towards the out building

You should make the one call anyway. Even if it’s In your backyard I think it’s the law.

If you so much as scoop out a tablespoon of dirt you are supposed to have a Dottie ticket. Fiber optic lines can cost you 1000’s.

Update.....Well i called La 1 call. A total of 3 contractors came by....slemco, the water system and AT&T guy. Understand that this is a country house. As expected, none of the guys would step foot on my property. They only marked their lines up to my property and no further. The Slemco line comes from a pole to my meter box with nothing underground. The previous owner of the house and property jumped power out of the meter box into the ground and then to a 30x40 metal building about 150 feet away....I could assume a straight line but there are huge trees between the two....so it must be something other than a straight line. That is the power that i'm trying to find on the property so i don't hit the line while trenching a little plumbing project near the metal building.
So to recap....the call was an absolute waste of my time and theirs. The gravel road is now marked up with paint locating a water line and AT&T but that's about it.

Dottie only locates public utilities in rights of way or easements. They do not locate or mark on private property. That is your responsibility as you “own” the utilities from the right of way to your building and they are not installed by utility companies
