Before thanksgiving I bought a green egg xl and the acacia table. I had no intentions of moving but got a job offer in Louisiana and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to move home.

I secured the egg in the pod with it protected and strapped from moving around. Got to it today and the base stand bent under the bumps and the egg cracked.

Suggestions? Tell the truth to customer service?

I live a couple miles from their HQ, and every time I visit they’re super helpful. They’ve given me a display ceramic cap when I broke mine, along with some small items that they’re testing out or are promotional items.

Be honest with them. Have your serial numbers handy. I doubt they’ll give you a new shell for free, but they’ll probably give you a discount on a replacement piece

Tell the truth, also is there no recourse thru POD. Figured you could get things insured.

I’d say it depends on your dealer and how helpful they want to be. I bought my egg at an egg fest and the firebox cracked on the trip home. The dealer replaced it for me under warranty. Good luck!

I’ve had nothing but excellent service when it comes to BGE warranty issues.

I broke my pizza stone by dropping it. I took it to a dealer and told them whAt happened and they replaced it for me.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences with the few parts I’ve had that broke.
