Anybody recommend any reasonable GC that's not going to frick me too bad? Probably remove and replace the shower, tub, vanity etc...

Don’t use slate

Nothing wrong with slate... just maybe not in the shower. We have African slate in our bathroom. It doesn't flake like normal slate and it's gauged to have the same thickness, do the install was easy.
