Growing up my mom had at least 50 around our house. Dad couldn't stand them because every year mom would want one moved and it always seemed to be a huge one.

Anyway, thinking of using some as a boundary between our place and next door.

Great choice.
I think they are pretty slow growing.

Are the deer resistant?

You better hope your neighbor does not have a cat.

It works, and I see it done all the time...and I've never understood it.

They look nice for maybe 2 months, and nothing but a haven for wasps the other 10 months.

I want to plant some native azaleas on my property, but they won't be as a hedge. I have a hideous hedge that was planted by the previous owner that will be cut down and replaced with blueberry bushes.

Big fan of Encore azaleas. They bloom 3 times a year. IMO, can't have a home in the south without an azalea bush and a camelia bush.
