I agree with you, but my recollection is that there is no neutral bar on the panel. Unfortunately I didn't take photos when I had it taken apart. I guess I'll just have to take it a part again and take photos.

I guess the other thought is that when the breaker trips all I do is reset the breaker and everything works. In other words, the breaker doesn't trip again after I reset it. The computer boots up fine on UPS until I flip the breaker switch to restore full power. Seems like if there was really an issue it would trip again...?

There is a neutral bar in that panel somewhere.

Awesome -- thanks for the info. At least I know I likely don't have a real arcing issue (at the moment).

This is consistent with the other 'normal' breakers in my panel which leads me to believe I have a 'plug on neutral' type breaker panel.

Siemens introduced their plug on neutral loadcenters April of 2020. If you have a model number listed on the inside of the cover I could tell you what you have

Is it possible that the AFCI breaker is both a 'plug on neutral' and they provide the pigtail in case the panel is not a 'plug on neutral' type of panel? In other words, I can just cut the pigtail off and install the breaker and I'm good?

No, this is not possible

Even if you have the plug on neutral type panel you should still be able to use that arc fault breaker that has the neutral attached to it. Just plug the breaker in on the bus and attach the wire to the neutral bar.

This is correct. You can use the old breakers in the new panels but not the other way around

Change it out with a regular breaker. That’s what I did when having the same issue. Problem solved

I discarded this thought as a last resort. I don't want any insurance issues if there is a fire.

I finally swapped the breaker. There was indeed a panel to neutral bar. Thanks for everyone's help. It no longer trips!

LOL, you didn’t solve your problem, you circumvented it. Your problem is still there
