I have a parking area that needs gravel added to it. Should have done it a while back because I am starting to get ruts in the mud. Is there a reason I should clean the area of leaves before adding more gravel/limestone? The area is under oak trees so lots to rake.

Are you sure you can't just bring in a box blade and get the gravel back up to the top?

I wouldn't worry about leaves. Blow them off if you want.

I am down to the dirt in much of the area as over time limestone has gone away.

I'd clean the leaves off. That can prevent compaction which ultimately is what you want.
