You did good, and those are good systems. I suspect they can install those units quicker on new conduction and save a good bit in labor costs that could be passed on to you, compared to a change out where the old unit needs to torn out, moved out of the house, disposed of, new system brought in refit to existing duct work, etc.

This is what I figured as well. It’s crazy the difference in quotes I received. I have a quote for single stage system as low as $17,000 and some variable speed systems around $35,000.

No clue haha, just hoping AC guys got it right. It’s the only AC for the downstairs so seems right based on square footage.
