3D House Design Software

Do any of you have any good recommendations for software that will take a simple floor plan and show you what it would actually look like in 3D? We’re starting to talk about building something but we’re far from ready to start talking to builders plus we have time. Problem is neither of us are good at imagining what something will look like. I’d like to find something that we could “play” with to get a better idea of what we might actually want and how it would look.

I assume there might be a cheap or free solution but I built a Revit model of our house after the 16 flood so that i could show my wife what I wanted to do and get material takeoffs.

Thanks for the recommendations. For now we’re just trying to get an idea of what something might look like that we both would like. Just a basic starting point before we would start narrowing down. I’m sure we’d start at a lot bigger house than we actually need or can afford!

Home Designer Pro.
I did a few 3D house plans for our home addition and two friends and it’s super easy. It was a $75/mo rental if you didn’t want to pay for the full software or just wanted it for a single project

Did it allow you to save your design after completion or did you have to continue paying the monthly subscription to access the design?
