New behavior when hitting the back arrow.

Typically when I go to a board it will mark all of the new threads. I can tell which ones I have read and which are new because of this mark. I can go into a thread and then back out of it and the new thread marks will remain. This is helpful so I can see which ones I have read and which ones I have not. Lately, if I spend any time in a thread and then back out it will refresh the screen causing me to lose the markers which show me which threads are new. I do not like this. Is it possible to turn off this autorefresh on back?
