How do you post a gif?

Ive tried uploading them to a variety of image hosting sites and won't upload on those sites to upload to here. Was wondering if there were certain websites that work better than others?

If you find the gif online already, you would post it just like you post a picture.

Mobile or laptop?
If mobile, on an iPhone just hold down on the image and click "copy" and then paste inside the image brackets here
If laptop, right click ->properties->copy address->paste in image brackets
If it doesn't end in ".gif" then you're doing it wrong
