From my friend:
"> what browser are you using? have you cleared your cache and internet history recently? when you ran malwarebytes, was it up to date before you ran it?
On all four computers in the house, we use predominately Firefox, which as far as I know is up to date. The problem doesn't seem to be an issue with any particular computer either, since the network will still go down whether we try pulling the site up on a Mac or a PC. On the PC, as far as I can tell it is clean and the antiviruses used to scan are up to date.
> what exactly happens to your router?
The router looses all internet connectivity. Wireless and the network itself stays up, but any attempt from any device whether wireless or wired cannot connect to the internet. The modem itself has no visible change in the status lights (ie: the cable connectivity light remains constant). If the router is left alone, within 10 minutes the internet connectivity will come back and everything will work perfectly, without the need to reset the router.
> when it bogs down, have you tried your phone on TD?
Using other networks, at work and cellular smartphones, does not have any visible problems. In fact, TD takes longer to lose connection than any other site. For example, when testing the theory that TD, or an adservice on TD, was causing this, I would notice that even after other sites (like Gmail, Google, deviantart.com, ESPN, etc) could not connect and return an error, TD would still load some pages, albeit without external ads or images. Pretty mind boggling to be honest.
> it is particular threads causing this?
I haven't seen a pattern in pages on TD causing the problem. Once I have time I will test it out. I don't believe TD itself is causing the issue any longer, but an ad service used on the site. Blocking the ads seems to have no effect when using an ad blocker.

Well it's apparent you've lost interest, but just letting you know that we got it working. Not sure what happened, but it all of the sudden quit giving us problems.
