The MIT Engineers travel for a basketball clash of nerds in New Haven this afternoon. It'll be a good appetizer for the huge LSU vs. Southeastern game tonight.

So whats the hold up on the logos?
I thought Minnesota and Houston were approved by committee?
Now we need to add Utah.

Did you see the Tubby Smith thread on the SEC Rant?
By the way, 44 combined minutes for Iverson & Sampson at F-C appeared to work much better for the Gophers than doing only 25 minutes for them. Just sayin', although maybe Tubby is just testing the team under pressure to prepare them for the playoffs, sort of like Skip used to do with baseball.

I second the motion to add Utah. Although as I'm sure Doc will be pleased to inform you, they should be very low in queue so as not to make a mockery of Minnesota and Yale which are both incomparably superior in terms of historical accomplishment.

Very well.
:sigh:
I think the following...
... will never happen because it's too elaborate.
Still under consideration...

Sorry, bro. I'd love to help you out.
But we have enough unfulfilled logo requests without allowing a historically irrelevant program like UNLV join the ranks. Perhaps if this had been proposed sooner it could have been implemented, but until we see some progress here all requests must be substantiated by either recent or historical prominence.
Until further notice, I regret to inform you that:
UNLV

1. UNLV is the third-winningest program by percentage (.713) in Division I history — ranking behind Kentucky and North Carolina and ahead of Kansas, Duke and UCLA.
2. In July 2008, ESPNU named the program the eighth most prestigious collegiate basketball program in the nation since 1984.
3. 1998-2008= 4 NCAA tournament appearances.
4. 1990 Champion and '91 runner up
Still historically insignificant?

Sorry, but you only get one post to substantiate your claim.
Plus I just said all of that to be an a-hole.
It's still a no.

Absolutely ridiculous. I can see leaving out Minnesota, but UNLV? Is there an appeals judge?

I'm just fricking around, man.
You can see if Doc will add it to the list when he checks in here.

Well, I actually was inclined to be in favor of it, since it is basketball season now, alongside a baseball power like Pepperdine or something, but then comes along this little gem...

Obviously, such an insult cannot be allowed to stand unpunished! It will be up to TLA to decide what the appropriate rite of atonement should be for this joker. May God and the ghost of Bronko Nagurski have mercy upon his soul.

Part of that could be because they've only been around for 50 years, play in a weaker conference, and cheated like hell for years to build up that winning record.

the same number as LSU. What's your point?

yes. 3 of your 4 statements refer specifically to the last 20 years.
