The "Soccer Board" discusses the entire fricking sport, not just one team or tournament. The transfer thread is actually the most important thread on the board, and is updated at all hours. Why should board regulars have to avoid going to the most important thread on the board just because a couple of people with chromosomes missing need to post "frick YEAH USA WON" or similar?

why did you RA for inappropriate ?
Did I? I think I RA'd for an anchor after it was shown to be wrong (it wasn't the fastest goal in history).
I didn't see the thread, but wasn't the thread posed as a question: "fastest goal in WC history?"
Why would you RA to anchor that?

He has yet to give a single reason why having a score board would be bad
It would either have 5 threads and be useless or 6000 threads similar to "why are we playing prevent defense, DUUUUR" and "USA frick Yeah" that are completely fricking stupid and shouldn't need to be posted at all.
Look at the Croatia-Cameroon match thread last night. It is an example of everything good on the board. We had discussions on favorite players, flares, historical problems relating to Cameroon' FA, what is and isn't a red card, wtf Song, etc. And it had the score, lineups, channel, and time in the OP where if someone NEEDED to know something like that, they could check the first post of the thread.

Use the bookmark feature the admins were so gracious enough to provide us and your transfer thread problem will be solved. Anything else?

"Soccer board regulars shouldn't have to bookmark the thread because of these stupid people posting on our board with their stupid opinions."

Im of the opinion that they should just stay off the web if they dont want spoilers.
if i miss any other sport event and i recorded it and plan to watch it later, i go on a complete info blackout and text key people not to text me about the game during or after until i initiate a conversation about it.

Don't want to know the score? Don't go to places that will spoil it.
And like I said earlier, I understand the necessity of the rule for Europeans leagues, but not the WC. It's like logging on to the MSB on a Sunday evening during football season and getting pissed when someone spoils a game.

Why can't you just use the match thread?
Why do you NEED to post "frick YEAH US SCORED!!!!!" as a separate thread?

You don't see regular game threads on TD? Same thing no matter what sport

You're complaining about something that's not going to be stopped. The same thing happens for Saint/Tiger games as well as other sporting events with a large audience on this site. When something noteworthy happens, people are going to start side topics to discuss it.
The World Cup is a once every 4 years exception to your board regulars' rules.

Same reason you have a post bitching in those threads, because they can.
Most people are amped up when watching sports, which makes them very reactionary, that's just sports.

If we use the theory of use the match thread for the talk about each match then why have a separate thread for each match? Why not have just one World Cup thread? Why have the Soccer Board at all? Why not have a single Soccer thread on the More Sports Board?
Because too many topic are being discussed.
There is no need for a score board. There is a Soccer Board. The World Cup is an event that takes place every four years and is a hot topics when very little is going on in the sports world.
Poorly titled threads and useless BS will be deleted or anchored. But not all threads that may or may not include a spoiler will be deleted or anchored because there is some good discussion.

For me, I work while 2 of each day's 3 matches are being played while I can get home in time for the 2nd half of the 3rd match. I do like to check in on the Soccer Board during the day to see if any new transfers have happened or to see what new rumors are flying about. And there is still good discussion regarding topics other than the World Cup matches. So it would be nice if I could do that without the possibility of someone ruining a result for me.
When you watch the 2nd half of that third match do you put tape at the bottom of the screen? ESPN is running their bottom line witch gives the results of the other matches of the day?

Why not have a single Soccer thread on the More Sports Board?
Because the same people who now want to post spoilers on the Soccer Board kept trolling the thread calling all soccer fans "grass fairies" and the like.
How about a compromise:
They can post spoiler threads for US matches, but no other matches
