A Modest Proposal for the Movie and TV board

The M/TV board is regularly littered with threads from people asking "what show should I watch next on NetFlix?", and half of these people don't bother to mention what they've already seen or what types of shows they like so the first page of responses is people mentioning their favorite shows, then the OP comes back and says "I've already seen all of those", finally tells us what he's watched and what he's looking for, and then you have more posters posting their favorite shows. This happens at least once a day, and while there's nothing inherently wrong with these threads, I've discovered other shows from them myself, I think there's a better way to do it.
Take the geaux.com dining guide back end, but rather than rating restaurants, we would be rating movies and TV shows. That way if someone wants to see a new show, they could go to the guide, click on the right genre and see what the M/TV board thinks, both star ratings and reviews.
Just a humble suggestion that I hope the powers that be will give due consideration.
