I tried everything- Night splints, orthopedic massages, chiropractor massages and ultrasound therapy, inflammation pills, inserts. I had it for 10 years. Then I started running everyday and eating somewhat healthy. After losing 15 pounds I have no symptoms. I wear running shoes for plantar fascitis when I'm running or walking around, and dress shoes made for people with plantar fascitis when dress shoes are needed. Hope that helps.

Couple years ago I had it in my left heel.
Saw a podiatrist who gave me special inserts for my shoes. I wore a night splint while I slept, had one of those rocker things you use to stretch your feet with. Did the frozen bottle of water thing. All the stretches they tell you to do.
What made it finally go away? I stopped hiking as much as I was (I was hiking usually once a week) and got a bike and started riding more. No more exercise videos where I'm jumping around. Any exercises I do is low/lower impact now.
No more pain. Haven't used inserts or stretches or night splints in almost 2 years. I still hike on occasion as well....still no pain.

I will say that all the things I tried (splints, stretches, inserts)....they really do work to get rid of the pain.

Might want to check with the doc to see if it's a fibroma

Yeah first thing podiatrist wanted before seeing me was xrays of my foot to make sure it wasn't something else (bone spur, etc)

Two years ago I dealt with PF for months. I slept with the foot brace and it works. My ortho said my calf was as tight as he has ever seen. He did not give me a shot due to the risk of the tendon rupturing. What made it go away? Idk. Stretching, exercise, good running shoes. It can be a debilitating condition.
