Looking for someone to get me through a 12 week program. Prefer one that will come to my house and train in my gym, but that is not a deal killer.

Looking in Baton Rouge/ Livingston Parish area
Who you got?

I got nothing, but you probably need to provide a general location.

do you know how to lift weights? because all of this can easily be achieved by following one of the programs from here

what is your expierence lifting? what equipment do you have?

weightloss will come from proper diet, not really training. we cna help with that too.

Yes, I have lifted before. Had back surgery 10 years ago and a combination of sedentary lifestyle, bad diet, and back issues led to getting out of shape and weight gain. I have a full gym ( free weights, professional cable machine, squat rack, eliptical, stationary bike, rowing machine) Back is much better these days. Got back into golf and it has strengthened back muscles. Primary reason for wanting trainer is accountability and to create an environment of competition. I do better when I have these in place. Need to get over the hump so I can start managing a healthy lifestyle.

i would suggest maybe joining the putthaforkdown thread and the weight training daily thread. post up your lifts for the day, ask for advice, post diet etc

will help with accountability

as far as programming, simple 3 day a week linear progression like grey skull lp with 360 min of walking weekly would be my suggestion to start. doenst have to be 360min to start, could be 180 to start + 3 lifting sessions, slowly add an hour of walking every other week or so until you reach the 360 goal.

lift for 45 min hard and progressively and then do like 10 min of hard conditioning 3 days a week. example would be lift then row 1 mile for time.

i would suggest going this route before hiring a trainer.

long term...motivation isnt the answer. developing discpline is.

Hi Barrister, I own a personal training gym on Jefferson, The Block Fit. If we can’t help you, we can probably help find someone that can. Not sure if it’s permitted to list contact info here. Email me and we can start that way.
