Hobbies with a good fitness and nutrition plan.
What are his interests? Look into local clubs or gathering areas. These communities usually also have decent online presence.
Humans are happier when we feel accomplished. Doing small projects within your interests fills those needs, personally.
I was a medicated young adult. Didn't help but made life worse. What helped was accomplishing small goals with good nutrition.
Sorry if this isn't that helpful in answering your question.

Talkspace, Betterhelp, and Teen Counseling seem to be the big ones. Some company insurance policies cover this type of counseling as a cheaper alternative to therapy so that's something to look into as well (my company covers Doctor on Demand).
I know someone that uses Doctor on Demand and is happier with it than they were Talkspace.

I’ve used BetterHelp. I don’t think it really holds up to a live person, but it has some advantages. It’s cheaper, and available nearly all day. The therapists generally respond in a timely fashion, though it can be hit or miss and there are options to schedule chat sessions or video sessions. I think they can prescribe medication, though I’m not certain. I think for some basic depression or life stuff it’s definitely worth a shot.
