I’ve been involved in a weight loss challenge with about 20 people since 1/1. We all put in $30 and most have done so well that we will continue after final weigh in on Good Friday. Winner take all.

I’ve lost about 40lbs and others are also around 15% weight loss. We weigh in on mondays to track progress. Gaining weight or not weighing in are penalized by $1/lb or $3.

Looking for ideas for continuing on a maintenance path as I don’t want to lose much more. Thinking $100 buy in and keep weight within 3% of goal weight. Keep it off for 6 months and keep your money. Anyone that goes outside of 3% has their $100 split among those that stay at goal weight.

Any other long term ideas?

quote:

keep weight within 3% of goal weight.

Does that mean that participants can't lose any more weight if they want?

My high school buddies and I idd a fat boy contest a few yeas back. Most of us lost the weight and kept it off (fat shaming works).

Now what we do is set a goal (mine is to lost 3% body fat) and you put a bet up to reach your goal I think I did $500. If you don't get it your goal the money gets split by those who do. Then we start over every few months.

Each person decides their own goal and how much they put in, the group can veto if the goal is bullshite.
