I've been using a Concept2 for Years as part of my weekly routine and have now added the Hydrow (still will use Concept for serious HIIT).

It's actually quite nice. Not sure if there are other owners here, I'd totally startup a team for the Weekly Races.

I have a concept2. I'm just now getting to the point of having a fairly efficient stroke, but I get easily bored and need some motivation. I would def. be down for some kind of group effort. but I don't have any online/upload capability.

I over 600,000 meters since starting on a Concept2 in April. Determined to hit the Million mark by end of the year.

Concept 2 is magnetic and hydro row is water, right? For those that have used and or owned brands. Is it ok to go cheap because neither of those are cheap.

Want to get started as I rowed for 4 months during rehab and want to continue!

Concept 2 uses air resistance. Hydro is Electromagnetic resistance. From research most of the cheap units are pretty much junk. Concept2 is kind of the gold standard unit that can be connected to various apps etc. Hydro more like Peloton with built in screen and app with monthly subscription.

Na, Concept2 is Air/Fan driven. Hydrowis a Proprietary Magnetic resistance by a former US Rowing Coach. WaterRower/Ergatta are water resistance.

Most pro rowers swear by the Concept2 not the water rowers for consistence strokes and easier to control training.

Rowers are one of those machines that quality and consistency are critical, so the gap between cheap and expensive in terms of quality is wide. Cheapest I'd go is probably a Nordic track - and even then its risky.

Well done.

I'm over 2.5m on my Concept, but have had it for 5 years now. Still works like the day I bought it.

Have the rowers gone down in price? I looked briefly at the beginning of Covid and was given a 6-9 month delivery date and premium pricing.

Na, Hydrows are expensive, I won't lie. I know I'll use mine every day so an easy investment.

Funny enough I just got some Hydrow codes for $500 off if anyone is interested. Still price at $1700, but maybe more tolerable.
