Looking to incorporate Heavy bag workouts into my weekly routine, and I would like to know if anyone has a particular workout they follow. I get tired of the same old cardio, so I wanted to mix it up a little bit.

Pick that fricker up and run
Then slam it
Then throw elbows
Put it back on hook and do 3 minute rounds of straight jabs and round house kicks

Bas Rutten on iTunes...old workouts, but they work. Basically calls out combinations and you perform them on the heavy bag. I do them at least once a week. I like the “all around fighting” which incorporates sprawls (when he calls out defense). All workouts are basically 30 minutes.

Boxing Heavy Bag

Please find a good Youtube on how to box. I mean learn how to at least get in a decent stance/rythym, how to somewhat move, and throw a basic 1/2 combination. I highly recommend finding a Kenny Weldon demonstration. That way you can at least get some benefit from boxing on a heavy bag and you might not break your wrist by not knowing how to throw a proper punch on a bag.
