Do you have a confirmed diagnoses that involves imaging and manual testing? If so, was surgery recommended? If you need surgery and depending on the extent of the damage you probably won’t do a heck of a lot the first 4-6 weeks post op.

I had complete rotator cuff tears in both shoulders and one of the first things I did in PT was strengthening my upper back. It doesn't seem to make sense at first, but lots of our shoulder issues are because we're hunched over our computers or phones which causes pinching in our shoulders. I was doing bootcamp and had large bone spurs which exacerbate the issues, but strengthening the back helps pull it back so to speak, taking pressure off those pressure/pinch points. Simple exercises like an exercise squeezing your shoulder blades together can start to help and you'll be amazed how different you feel with a stronger upper back.
