I find if I eat a big steak, say 12 oz or greater, I have no immediate blood sugar impact. Give it three to four hours later, some of my biggest blood sugar spikes have occurred after a heavy protein and low carb meal.

Nope everything else looks good. I have high lipoprotein a (genetic)

I just found out I have the same thing. Did a deep dive on it and really freaked myself out. Switching to a Mediterranean style diet and going to try and drive all my other lipids down to rock bottom.

They did a calcium score on me which was zero. I guess I have high APO a component of HDL which is very cardio protective so that’s a big plus.

Apparently there will be very effective treatment for lipoprotein a in the next couple of years.

Did the same. Mine was greater than 0 but less than 100 which is “mild” but not good for my age.

I’ve been looking at these lipoprotein(a) drugs in phase three. Need those to be approved sooner than later.

If you really want to knock it down a psk9 inhibitor can apparently knock it down like 25-30 percent along with lipo b and ldl.

I’m “only” 60 with the reference range being 0-30 and my other lipids are pretty good so they’re not worried for the next couple of years.

Interestingly mine was 79 after I got Covid the 2nd time and it’s come down to 60 over a few years.

Kinda force myself to even consume that much. I just don’t eat a ton in general.

Well flip protein and carbs. I suspect you are eating way more carbs than you think and you need your diet to be protein based
