Distal clavicular osteolysis. Had this with my right (dominant) shoulder and had it fixed surgically (arthroscopic mumford procedure) when I had my rotator cuff /labrum repair back in 2015. My right shoulder has been trouble free since.

I noticed a little nagging pain anteriorly in my left shoulder Sunday afternoon, and woke up Monday morning with point tenderness over AC joint along with soreness, some AC joint crepitus and discomfort particularly when reaching across my body with the left arm. It's gotten a little better, but not gone since no upper body resistance training over the last three days. My normal resistance routine is GSLP Asthetics template with pull-up and pushup homework. I had recently moved from regular pushups to elevated feet pushups, and that's where I'm (perhaps optimistically) laying the blame.

Anyways, anyone had this and successfully conservatively rehabbed it without the surgical fix? I feel pretty comfortable regarding the diagnosis (I'm a surgeon, though not an orthopod), just looking for boots on the ground been there done that experiences. Have not had imaging and have not seen my ortho doc nor had joint injected thus far. 53 yrs old (I know that's old) for reference.

TLDR: left shoulder hurting at AC joint, think it's weightlifter's shoulder, had this in other shoulder fixed surgically, hoping to not have surgery this time. Thanks for any experience.

No, but willing to try and can obtain what I need to. Your recs have been great for me so far, would greatly appreciate you posting that.

I know I'm my own worst enemy. I make gains then start trying to go too fast, especially increasing my number of daily pushups to numbers I don't really need to be doing

Thank you for your help

After left shoulder repair, knee scoped, double spinal fusion and now elbow issues, I have decided to go a different route than I used to. I am more focused on lower weights and higher reps. Cardio, spinning and swimming. In the end, Mother Nature always wins. This is what’s works for me. You have to do you. I’m soon to be 62. Arthritis has also set in on the past problem areas.
