Whatever reason the fans weren’t on that day and I tend to sweat more when I also wear my blue gi that’s heavier.

I’m still between 194.5-196 with my uniform on. Should be fun

I mean, low carb will let you deplete your glucose from your muscles, and water that is attached to it, probably 8-10 pounds, but it’s probably not appropriate to do without experience of seeing how that affects your energy levels. when I cut my grass wearing jeans for an hour and weedeating I will lose 5 to 6 pounds of water.

I've lost a couple of pounds but don't think I'm going to make it to 168 lbs by Friday which is the last day to change weight classes. Regardless, I'll keep trying and eating clean just to stay in a good frame of mind. Once I get through this tournament, I'm going to get back in the gym a couple days a week to lift some with my workouts geared toward BJJ training.

After this I’ll be doing a lot more grip work, I do want to do a judo competition late this year or early next year. I’m getting closer to getting my blue belt (within the next 3-4 months)

I’m still hovering between 194.5 to 196.0 with my gi on. One of my teammates is competing in my division as well.

HIIT training and strict dieting until tournament, and drink a LOT of water. I start months out for a 8-10 lb weight cut. Honestly, I would change my weight class if I had my doubts. I've competed at middle weight and lightweight, and performed well at each. At white belt level, I would shy away from any serious weight cut. Competing in IBJJF is unlike anything else in regards to intensity, so you don't want to get out there and gas out because you haven't eaten or drank enough. I have competed quite a bit and I'm going to World Masters this year, and I have about 5 more lbs to get off for that. If it was just a local open, I wouldn't bother cutting. I would just move up a weight class.

Well I’m gonna stay at 195.

Yesterday mornings training before I ate anything I was 187 with full uniform on

Today after eating and drinking lots of fluid I’m 191.

Weighed in at 169.2 without Gi this morning, so I'm just going to stay at the 182 class. I'll just continue to work on my diet for the next one. At least I can grab a couple of beers this weekend and not stress out.

So true!

I had no gi training (my second class ever) and conditioning this morning

I’m hovering between 185-187 without wearing a gi so I’m good to go.

I had 6 competitors now there’s only 5 (including me), if I had another month I’d seriously try to get to 182

There are now 7 including me in my division. Trying not to think about it too much right now. Just going to eat clean this week, not go too hard rolling, have somewhat of a game plan, and get good sleep. Good luck to you.

I practically spent yesterday from 6am-12:30 or so slowly reintroducing myself to weight training, 90 minute private lesson, and regular fundamentals class.

I’m not nearly sore as I expected and feel great. I’ll do one to two more classes this week just flowing. No need for anymore intensity

Weight is still good at 188, so I’m probably 191-192 with the gi and uniform

Thanks for the encouragement!

Weighing about 170 lbs today with no gi. Gonna be in the 182 and under, feeling good. Going to get a massage tomorrow morning to try and relieve tension and anxiety.

Just found out that I won't be competing until 6 pm, was hoping for earlier in the day.
