Obviously, alkaline water has been on the shelves for a while, with pH’s ranging from 8-10 or so listed,

But, the ORP (Oxidation reducing potential) for these store bought Alkaline waters are still in the 0 to +300 range, which means it’s oxidIzing (needing free electrons to neutralize the oxidation).

Gatorade, Powerade and Sodas, etc all have acidic pH’s with + ORPs, as well. The tap water you have at home is around +300.

Some of these Kangen style water machines produce water around 9.5 pH and with an ORP in the -800 range for drinking and cooking.

So, has anyone tried daily Ionized, Alkaline Water as a main option to provide anti-oxidants into the body?

Companies cannot package - ORP water since, these free electrons will eventually neutralize with outside molecules in a very short time: 2-4 days. Picture it similar to a charged battery; over time, the battery will lose its charge as it slowly loses the difference in potential between anode and cathode.

Also, a couple of dudes won a Nobel Prize for discovering that cells have positively charged water channels that allow water in and out of the cells. Drinking negatively charged water, allows for usage of these water channels; like a magnet: opposite charges attract, same repel. If you are consuming + ionized water, these channels have minimal flow due to the same charge.

The stomach acid doesn’t neutralize all of it. Even so, it would help people with chronic acid reflux.

If stomach acid was the destroyer of everything you ingest, then oral medications would be useless.

..and the negative ORP?

Sometimes people have chronic acid reflux because they don't produce enough acid and their flap doesn't close. The main reason drinking apple cider vinegar helps people is because it throws more acid into the stomach helping digestion. Alkaline water being good is probably not a real thing. But you should probably check your stomach acid situation before messing with your ph in such a manner. This is assuming you drink a lot of water and it would be alkaline water...
