Why did David Toms not play in senior pga Championship?

Was looking at the results from the pga tour event in Fort Worth and I noticed David Toms finished in a tie for 31st place. I was wondering why he would skip a senior major to play in a run of the mill pga event.

He’s a past champion.

I know he’s a past champion, just figured a major would mean more. Glad he did well.

Maybe because he is the past Senior US Open champ and is getting ready for the US Open at Pebble Beach. And he is a past champ at Colonial. He finished tied with Sam Burns.
