No idea how true this is, but Mr. Short Game on YouTube had information given to them that makes a tremendous amount of sense.

EU team played 18 holes 10 times prior to the start. US team played 9 holes twice.

Young was very familiar with the course from growing up nearby. He was easily the best putter on the US team, his familiarity with the greens showed.

No idea if this is actually true, but it sure explains how most of the team struggled to read putts.

If that is true, we really need a reset on how the American Ryder Cup team works from captain to last player chosen.

I really hope it isn’t true. I would hate to think our guys cared so little about it.

And yes as a captain you need to set expectations on practice as well as performance. If guys aren’t putting in the work replace them with alternates.

I really liked your “play in” selection method. That would put alternates in place
