Very serious nearly fatal heart attack in 2011 forced me to stop playing. Enforced sedentary lifestyle resulted in loss of at least half of my normal strength especially in my upper body.
Fast forward 6 years, I finally told my cardiologist, I would rather die playing golf than live restricted to watching it on TV
Now back playing after a 6 year layoff although only 9 holes. I used to be a 10 from the member tees , now I play the senior tees and still can shoot about 41-42 for nine holes.
I was a long hitter, but erratic. Now that I can'toverpower it my technique has improved and I am pretty consistently in the short grass.
After 6 years of watching the Golf Channel and all the slow motion video, I understand the swing much better and am more sound in my fundamentals.
