Too much offset causing drastic hooks?

I am currently gaming my first set of golf clubs which is the Taylormade Burner 2.0s from 2011. I have a huge left miss that only gets more pronounced with my longer irons. I am starting to get more into the game so wanting to upgrade irons.
I went and hit the Srixon Zx5s today and noticed my shots were noticeably straighter. Looking at specs the Burners have 4.2mm offset and the Zx5s have 3.2mm. When you look at the 4 iron, the Burner jumps up to 6.1m.
I know swing mechanics make up a majority of the results, but I was thinking the large offset may be exacerbating that left miss. Anyone more knowledgeable than I care to chime in.

Possible. Could also be the lie angle or shaft.

Possible. Are you hitting pulls or hooks or pull hooks? Lots of beginners don't know the differences. What do your divots look like?
Maybe check by moving your ball position back just a hair. Maybe try a heavier shaft, or weaken your grip some. It's too many possibilities without seeing you strike a golf ball.

Could be to weak of a shaft and the club is lagging behind and you flip your wrists at the bottom. Could also be that on your downswing, your elbow is to close to your body and getting the club "stuck" and flip your wrists to get the club back in position but the timing is off and not square at impact.

Is it all of a sudden or have you been hooking them for a while.
A draw would indicate offset and or shaft.
A hook is more of a grip or swing flaw.

It's always been my miss. There are definitely some swing issues like I mentioned in the OP, I am just curious if its being exacerbated by the larger offset since those clubs are designed for new golfers with a strong anti-slice bias.

You’re talking about a millimeter difference (and less than 3 on the 4i). I would tend to doubt the offset has much to do with your hooking.
Lie angle and wrong shafts would make more difference, but…
It’s your swing.

I am guessing this isn’t the ideal lie angle, eh?

I would recommend a lesson with a good instructor. He/she will be able to tell you right away what the problem is. I thought i had an issue with my hook due to clubs, my pro took one look at my swing and told me it is going to be much cheaper to fix than i thought

Go get one of your clubs bent a degree or two flat and see if that helps. It doesn’t cost much.

We talking duck hooks, pull hooks, power draw?
Some details of how far offline might help narrow it down. I use to play Ping G25 irons but the offset gave me 15 yard draws with the occasional dead straight. Chalked it up to visual issue and switched to far less offset.
