Depends on altitude and humidity but I was hitting 20-30 yards longer with my irons (8600 ft).

Colorado Springs you can expect about a 10-15% increase to all of your distances. Ball doesn’t hit as much air resistance so ball flight is typically a little lower and comes off with less spin. I had a 7.5 degree driver in Louisiana and my loft is 10.25 for my driver to hit the same windows here in Denver.

Reading greens is tough. Never forget that the mountain itself is a slope.

You'll gain one club, maybe two. Less spin too if you play that way. It will make you puff your chest out. It does me at least, I'm close to the PGA Tour in Utah. Read foothills like you would water... your putt is going to fall away from the hills so even that straight putt ain't straight.

Just remember, no matter what, you will not hit it as far as Mile High Draw, you need several golf gloves per round and wear your hat backwards.

Enjoy!

Article I read said you will gain about 2.5% distance per 1000ft above sea level. This has me excited for my trip to Big Sky this summer because I am going to drop nukes

I arrived in CO (Air Force Academy) in 1972. I was playing to a 5 at the time. I noticed about a 10% increase in distance. As others have said, putting was the critical difference. Everything pretty much broke away from the mountains and downhill putts with the grain were a bitch. A round without a 3 putt was a damn good round.

Enjoyed mountain golf today. The course I played kissing camels was definitely not worth the hype or the money but the scenic views made it ok.
