So do you choose where you play Friday or is it random after you sign up?

No. They set it up based on handicap

You have to win your flight to play fallen oak.

Championship through 3rd flight or something plays Fallen Oak, then the next few flights play Grand Bear. So on and so forth.

Is it mostly competent golfers, or do any skill level play?

Any skill level can play. Last year they had around 1,100 golfers play. And I read on their Facebook page, this year they’re expecting their biggest attendance to date.

Any skill level can play. There are so many flights that there is room for all and the use of different courses keeps the less competent golfers separate from the more competent golfers.

You get a lot of golf and food for your entry fee. However, the prizes for the winners are not that great, but it is a charitable event. Considering the logistics involved with the number of players and the use of multiple courses, they do a great job with the tournament!

Agreed. Prizes could be better, no diddy bags for signing up or anything. Not even a shirt. But it’s a very well run tournament, very organized. And like previous post said, for 3 rounds of golf, lunch and dinner, plus free alcohol from tee time to dinner.. it’s pretty reasonably priced.

It’s been a few years since I last played, and I always partnered up with a scratch player, so we ended up at Fallen Oak three years in a row. The food they serve for the final round was some damn good stuff!

First time playing. I see some people already know what courses they are playing. When I type my name on the Where Y'at section of the Slavic website to find out, it isnt showing. Is that because of it being my first year playing?

I think the ones that knew where they were playing were from the 2017 posts to this thread. Courses would not be known this year until the field is completed.

Last year was the first time we made Fallen Oak. My partner is overcoming a 3 year affair with the laterals.
