I shot a legitimate -23 (49 on a part 72) in a scramble once at The National in Westlake.

I was the worst player on my team as a 7-handicap.
The other 3 guys were all plus handicaps.

We had a move up Par-5 (250 yds) that we made a 2 on.
We did not eagle one of the other par 5's. (Burned 4 mulligans trying to make that stupid putt)
We did have a chip in on a par 4 for eagle.

We had 1 mulligan per player per 9 holes.
We had 2 mulligans left when we finished.

Most of the scrambles around LC are held at The National and the winning scores are usually around -17 to -19.

Shot a 59 in our scramble (no handicaps assessed) at Cyrpus Creek in Destrahan last month. We got on a birdy streak and we were confident as a team that we placed in the top 3.

Some group came in with a 52.

I just shook my head, chugged the rest of my beer and walked out.

Scrambles are usually fundraisers and people cheat.

Can’t take it seriously. Just have fun.
