I mean that def says more about how much guys are making for winning more so than anything. Scheffler is the best golfer we’ve seen in a while but his caddies earnings this year surpassed some really good golfers season earnings. You can’t really compare career earnings anymore. Morikawa won 20 mill and didn’t win a single tournament this year.

Best seasons since 1987 by % of potential money won:
Tiger (2000): 63.0%
Tiger (2006): 58.63%
Tiger (2007): 54.23%
Scottie (2024): 51.02%
Tiger (1999): 50.54%
Tiger (2009): 47.96%
Tiger (2005): 46.73%
Tiger (2002): 44.11%
Essentially, Tiger only had three PGA Tour seasons better than Scottie's from top to bottom.
The most by someone not named Tiger or Scottie was Vijay with 38.44% in 2004.
That takes how the money inflation on tour and shows what Scottie did was Tiger like. Period

Like i said, Scheffler imo is by far the best golfer we’ve seen in a long long time. With that being said the stat about career earnings doesn’t really mean anything anymore. When you have a man winning 20 million without winning a single tournament this whole “career earnings” accomplishment isn’t really a stat to go off of. And it’s not just inflation lol. It doesn’t take away what Scotties season was statistically cause it was insane. But it’s not just inflation. 20 mill and you didn’t win a single tournament says enough about how much money is being dumped into the tour. Just not a statistic worth a shite anymore. Scheffler is the best golfer on the planet and the 2nd best golfer isn’t close to him right now.

Dude read the stat I posted again. Playing for 75 cents or 75 million doesn’t matter….
And I’m speaking of “golf inflation”, not actual inflation. The stat I referenced neutralizes that

I read it but somehow you’re not understanding that the star of “career money earned” is an irrelevant statistic, he had a great year but the amount of money he won in comparison to what others have doesn’t mean anything when they’re making insane money. He had one of the best seasons in golf history. But i replied to someone stating “he’s 3rd on the career money earnings list”. Which isn’t a stat that means anything today. So no clue what you’re going on about.
