Any small business owners here get peppered with people selling ads for local courses?

I am interested in how this works. Two of the local courses I play, one where I am member, allow these salesman to sell the advertisements. I assume the clubs get free scorecards and/or yardage books out of the deal. The salesman are pretty terrible and blow up my phone every other day. As a member, I would rather pay a little more money each month to not have these guys representing my club or selling on behalf of my club. Anyone else have any experience?

Copper Mill does. Guy called me about sponsoring yardage books. All I could think about is that if I see someone hacking out at CM and pull out a yardage book I am probably going to make fun of them.

haha definitely. I have a book for the bluffs but that was before rangefinders. I think that anybody serious enough to carry a yardage book owns a range finder these days.
