Regular vs stiff flex

Not a huge golfer but I play once every couple of months.
Had a client give me some Adams Idea Tech V3s, which includes hybrids (4h, 5h, 6h). Graphite shafts.
The irons are regular flex shafts and I’d be replacing a set of steel, stiff flex Adams irons.
The flex doesn’t feel drastically different but what would the board say in regards to making that switch? Will I have to noticeably drop my swing speed or could it be a minor difference in feel? I know when it comes down to it I’ll just have to get on the range and hit.
He also gifted me a Callaway Diablo 10.5 driver but the regular flex there is quite a bit different and I don’t think I’ll be able to make that one work.
TIA.

Yea I knew that was coming. I’ve never had it analyzed.
What’s the easiest way to get an accurate reading? I looked up iPhone apps but didn’t see anything that didn’t require an Apple Watch, etc.

Just try them, your swing speed isn’t as fast as you think it is anyways.

If the shaft is too weak you will hook the hell out of the ball most likely. Too stiff and it will do the opposite.

I switched from stiff shaft driver to regular about 2 years ago and drove the ball much better. My irons are still stiff shafts but if I ever buy a new set they'll have either regular or mid-flex. This might not be good for you though, I'm 58 and my swing has slowed a bunch as I get older.

I actually did that exact thing. Stiff steel to regular flex graphite. I was fitted for that, so I went with it. While it did give me more distance, I lost accuracy and any feedback. I had to look up to know where it was going. So I switched myself to stiff graphite, and I'm much better off. Driver swing speed used to be 100 mph but probably slower now. Driver carry is about 240 now.

Realistically shaft flexes and profiles differ pretty significantly across brands. Also, it is about your tempo as much as swing speed, as well as the weight of the shaft. Some people (myself) have trouble with lights shafts and others struggle with heavy shafts. You won’t kbow the answer without a fitting.
