"prior generation" golf balls actually make a difference?

I am looking on rockbottomgolf and they are selling the prior generation Taylormade Project A for $22.50. Can you actually tell the difference between the two generations? if not, might pick up 5 dozen and be set for a while.

There is no difference. If they have the spin/ball flight you're looking for, then load up.
I have a friend that works for Louisville Slugger and he tells me the bats are the same from year to year, they just change the graphics. Same goes for the golf industry.
