Olde Oaks Bossier Status Update

It’s confirmed, they did sell olde oaks and to DL Wallace, they are changing ownership in October. He already planted the fast growing “impact” trees on oak. They have no idea what he is going to do with the course. They heard he got a grant to “fix it up”. 5 of the workers are moving to stonebridge. Olde oaks is in the worst shape it’s ever been, greens are dead and dirt with weeds, course is barely mowed, complete rip off for $50, will probably be a tree farm soon.

The former GM at Stonebridge told me a couple of weeks ago that they were turning it into a Par 3 course.

This has been the case for a while. Not really news. He planted those trees on three holes on Oak probably 5 months ago. The HOA has been hard at it with the MPC/Zoning about it. There's a cease and desist with them for planting trees for now.

Yea, not going to happen. DL Wallace isn't in the business of running a golf course. His grants are probably for planting trees.

Not going to happen. This has been a rumor for a while. The new owner does not run golf courses, much less build new ones. He buys up old ones and plants trees all over them.
The current owner, Ji Eugene, told me that same thing a few weeks ago and Hank that works out there said that too. It's just a BS answer that is trying to buy the owner time to keep people off his arse until the sale goes through.

DL Wallace has a video on Facebook standing on the porch at Olde Oaks overlooking the course, and from my understanding he is saying it is all going to be trees.
“Some people look at a forest and see a golf course. We looked at a golf course, and saw a forest.”
Hopefully it doesn’t happen to the currently “maintained” (lol, I know) course. Olde Oaks is my favorite course in the area, aside from the terrible conditions the last couple years. I had a lot of hope and enjoyed playing there weekly when Reed was managing it, because it seemed to be improving. Such a good layout, and could be a really nice course.
