The Hammond Golf center. It was a 9 hole course and driving range near North oaks hospital. Course was very low quality. It's been closed for several years.

Bayou Bomber/Fox Run in Bossier. Barksdale Air Force Base golf course. Has only been closed for a year or two now. Had 10 different names over the years but those were the two most recent.
I worked maintenance there for years as a teen into my young 20s (20+ years ago).
The AFB couldn't have given two shits about that course. The only way anything ever got done or upgraded was if the commander in charge at the time was a golfer. Sucks to see it let go.
The superintendent I worked for was an awesome guy who I am still good friends with, he always said "one day this is going to be leveled for base housing".

When I started this thread a month ago I was racking my brain trying to think of the nine hole Par 3 course in Shreveport off Flournoy Lucas and Youree. Had a driving range and it seemed like putt putt as well. Just found it... Champion Links. That had been driving me nuts for a month
Yea I don't ever see it coming back to life. Talked to an air force guy that just retired that played there and he said a military golf course has to make money to stay open. Safe to say that place wasn't making money. There was rarely anybody on it.
The par 5 out by Barksdale Blvd is one of the dumbest par 5's ever. Dog leg is so close to the tee box you had to hit a dang 7 iron off the tee unless you could rope a massive draw around.

Champion Links
God Champion Links was so awesome. I remember my mom dropping us off as young teenagers and playing 27-36 holes until we couldn't swing anymore.
When I got serious about golf, I played Olde Oaks in its prime (this was 2007-ish) about 4-5 times a week. I loved the atmosphere, it didn't even feel like it was in south Bossier when you were out there...............Then I had kids.
Also cant forget about the OG Goat Ranch. Meadow Lake in Keithville.

How old are you? We have some of the same experiences. I'm 39, grew up in Bossier.
Man Olde Oaks in it's prime was a really nice golf course. I would have taken it over East Ridge and Southern Trace around that time. Oaks nine was probably my favorite and unfortunately that's the nine they closed. Haven't been out there in a year or two.

38. From SOBO. Live in Benton now.
I sold my clubs roughly 10 years ago when I just couldn't play enough to stay consistent and not rage every round. My last round was a Sunday afternoon at Olde Oaks. Sprayed a few and it was frick this shite o'clock.
ETA: Looking to ease back into it with the Chasing Aces par 3 9 hole though.
