Any recent play here? 16 man trip next month. I'm sure they are all in good shape, just wondering. Thanks

Played the Azalea Course at Dancing Rabbit on Sunday afternoon. Course was in great shape. I think there was one green that wasn’t damn near perfect. Entire fairways were green and beautiful, no bare spots. Sand was nice too. Spent a little time in there.
It was my first time on Azalea, and I found it hilly and tough… which is great, but not for me that day.
It was wetter than I thought it would be when I called and got a tee time. Showed up and it was cart path only. Didn’t know what I got myself into until about the 4th or 5th hole. I think it was the closest I’ve ever been to possibly having a heat exhaustion episode.
Still, I look forward to getting back over there next year during Neshoba County Fair time and hopefully we can take carts in fairways and what not and I won’t die.
It’s also a great value. $50 with my fair wristband, but I think it’s $75 regularly. GPS on carts, saw the bev cart girl 4 or 5 times, good pace of play, etc.
Have played the Oaks in the past, and it’s not as difficult, but not as pristine either. Good fairways and greens, but some of the rough and fairway bunkers were not as well kept. Would still consider it a good value.

Is the MSU course worth a crap anymore? Loved it before the redesign. Enjoyed elm lake too but the pro/manager was an arse

Waverley and Mossy were great in April earlier this year.
Solid little place.

I was in college from 2012-2016 and it was a decent track then. I have heard they redid the greens recently and put some more money into it so it’s probably decent to average.
I haven’t played elm lake in probably 15 years but it was always known as one of the worst courses in the area (just didn’t have the money to keep it in good shape) but I think it has a new owner dumping money into it so maybe it’s improved.

Good to hear about state course it’ll never be what it was before they re designed to me but i plan to play it next week.
Elm was just a great design. It always struggled with play to keep it top shape.

Elm Lake is actually in pretty good shape . Gets a ton of play . Tee times for the morning are hard to get right now . Waverly and Mossy Oak are always in good shape . Lot of good golf in the Golden Triangle area. River Birch in Amory is another good track
