As Tom Coyne says: Do you know what 68 feels like? It feels like it should have been 67.

Well, Kevin Chappell can now say what 59 feels like... like it should have been 58, because he definitely left a couple out there. Started with a par, made 9 straight birdies, then made two birdies and 6 pars in the final 8 holes.

But does 59 count on a par 70? Should we do it based on relation to par?

I feel like it holds more weight to say 13 under than 11 under, but the scorecard doesn’t ask the story.

It’s a 59, but I get your point.

I find it slightly more impressive on a par 70. The courses are all about the same length, 7200-7400.
Means the player had an on fire putting and ball striking day.

I played TPC Deere Run about 2 weeks before the tour stop for the NAIA nationals. Stricker and goydos shoot 59-61-62 in the tournament. I, did not.
