Have been doing some initial research on building one of these in my garage and wondered if anyone has any insight.

The Rapsodo MLM2 Pro Studio kits look great and easy to set up Setting up a studio for under 5k but I am thinking that you could do a build your own screen/net and add just the monitor and projector for about half that price. Has anyone tackled this option? Do's? Don'ts?

You may trade some of the convenience and easy assembly of the kit but would be less expensive. Or do you just bite the bullet for the real deal and get the kit that has a good reputation.

Thanks.

I have an amazon list in which I am building out a home simulator. I have it around 5k but it was building the enclosure myself instead of using a kit.

6'x12' golf mat - $309.24
Golf Netting 10'x10' - $30.99 each (3)
Impact Screen - 344.99 4mx3m
Ceiling Mount - 23.99
Home Theater Projector - $2198.30
Flight Scope Mevo+ - $1900 (on sale right now)

Have to add a little for odds and ends.

Projector and electronics could be switched out to get it cheaper or better.

There is also an Optishot Golf in a Box but I haven't looked into it.

ETA: After looking at that link, I may scrap this idea and just buy one when I'm ready.

I ordered the Rhapsodo MLM today. Was on sale for 299, and it’s portable enough to carry with you on the course.

I liked the reviews on it, and I may set up a place for it at my house, the less expensive simulators from my research do better outdoors.
