Staying down in the shot to me is one of the biggest things that separates a player from a novice. Its very hard to do tho. Pros are using the ground correctly and applying pressure that gets the left hip cleared and back allowing them not to raise up in the shot.

Those who have seen your swing on camera how do you get your hips open at impact to stay into the shot?

correct

This video is awesome at explaining ground pressures in the swing. Using the ground is a massive part of the equation that I've just now come to learn about.

this instructor Ben Emerson is great at explaining it, basically you have to use the ground correctly and apply pressure to get the hips to open, almost like pushing off a wall.

I’ve found that “speed training” helps amateurs a ton. Yes, the neurological effects do work, but maybe even more importantly it teaches you how to sequence intuitively. Width and using the ground produce a lot of more speed and most bad golfers suck at getting width in the back swing and using the ground.

Using the ground has been eye opening for me.

Watching videos of pros on force plates shows they push super hard into their feet with a shite load of pressure.

Force plate stuff is awesome to research.

I'm working on this now. My issue with my irons for years was hitting it fat.

Early extension was a downstream effect from swaying forward in transition. I would sway forward, my arms would get "stuck" and I would throw the club out and my low point would move behind the ball.

I step up to every full shot now with two swing thoughts. Feel my arms connected and straight in my takeaway and backswing for as long as possible, and keep my head behind the ball and rotate my body around my head. That's the feel. I still don't do it every single time, because I've now got 6 years of a bad swing engrained, but my ball striking has improved tremendously. Particularly with my long irons. In the last 5 rounds I've had 4 approach shots from 190-215 and hit 3 greens. 3 years ago those balls were going 45 yards and I'm using half my sand to fill the hole left behind

Depends on what is causing it. It's your body's way of finding a way to get the club on the ball. Steep club, open clubface, arms trailing the body, sliding too much, etc.

A lot of early extension problems start in the backswing. If the left hip (for a right handed golfer) works out towards the ball, you have already early extended.

The center of the pelvis shouldn't get closer to the ball than it is at address.

Here's what was big for me, the pressure applied on the lead foot is applied going outwards, which in turn pulls the left hip back and clears it. Like pushing off a wall. Same exact motion as pushing yourself while sitting on a stool. If you stand up and do this and practice it you notice your hips automatically clear immediately.

This video explains it well.
