I don't know if the op has made a decision yet but Black Bear is also having their first Saturday of the month Brunch this weekend. It goes from 9-1 and it's a good time. (bloody mary bar, bottomless mimosas, and good food)
It's also Black Bear's last weekend with the winter rate still in effect. You can play 18 with a cart for $40.00.
Also, if you decide to make the drive up to Mystic.... the teed off app has tee times available Saturday for $39.00 per person. Pretty awesome deal up there.
With the amount of rain we are getting right now, I'd shoot for a course that drains well.

I feel like Calvert could be a next level course if they could get better drainage, more grass cartpath to cartpath, and stop getting the "nematoads" every year

Bayou Darbonne Country Club is a hidden gem in the area. It's only 9 holes but has some alternate tees. Very reasonably priced and drains well. Something to look into

so basically you want them to renovate the course. "stop getting the Nematode every year". I find this pretty amusing. Nematode control is something we all fight. Controls for Nematodes is very expensive and very timing sensitive. it requires multiple applications back to back based on soil temperature and species of nematode targeted.
