Pinon Hills in Farmington, NM is a good course and an hour away.

I grew up there

Hillcrest Golf Course is a fantastic public course with fast greens... cheap but solid (won my first state championship there)

Dalton Ranch... semi private and a fantastic layout!! My parents house in on the 7th fairway. We were the second home ever built there. Animals river cuts through many holes

Glacier Club... super private.... play if you have the means cause it’s amazinng

Pinion Hills.... 45 min south of DGO... was consistently ranked in top 10 courses you can play for value back in the day

The farthest south I played in CO was Crested Butte. A group of us would head down early Friday AM and play 18 on Friday, 36 on Saturday, & 18 early Sunday. We were tired puppies driving back.

Awesome 'high desert' course. Played there 20 years ago. Cost was 40 for first loop and 19 for the second. Great layout.

The rattlesnake warning signs were a bit unnerving though.

I have played both Pinion Hills and Dalton Ranch.
Pinion Hills is well worth the drive to Farmington, NM to play. I can’t say enough good about the experience.
I’ve also played Dalton Ranch and it’s very good as well. It's a well maintained residential course.
