Any word if the new management group got the course back into shape?

I played in a tournament there this past Monday. It was my first time playing the course so I can’t compare it to how it was previously but I thought it was it great condition.

I played when it was bad, and it was horrible. But I heard they got it back on track

Poon fired billy casper golf. Kinda up in the air which way it goes. Member member last week was great.

Yeah it’s still hit or miss. More miss. Poon just fired the pro they brought in from Hawaii 6 months ago because he wouldn’t take a 50% pay cut.

The bigger problem is that the greens just keep getting worse over time. Everyone knows they’re over overdue to be torn up & replaced, but its hard to see a financial pathway how this gets done.

The greens were noticeably faster and better this weekend, but its still a week by week situation.

We played it this weekend, as well. Overall, the course is in good shape. The greens are splotchy and a few of the greens have some really bad areas, but they rolled decently. That’s the only thing holding it back from being a really great course.

Are some of the green still comically small?

I understand that in order to save money, they kept cutting the greens smaller and smaller.

I play there in April. Some greens were just tiny.

There were bad spots on the edges so they just cut them out. The greens need to be fully redone and the course will suffer until they are done right.

Yes, i’d say six or seven of the greens which were already the smallest ones to start with have been made even smaller over time. Many of these smaller greens are hourglass shaped, so there are often pin placements which are extremely difficult if not possible to get it close.
