I want to get a new cart bag and doing some research which has shown me that the major manufacturer bags run $200-250, but they have off brands that are about $100-125.

Is there a reason to avoid these off brands? The bag chills on the golf cart so idk how much wear n tear it'll get.

This is the bag I'm looking at:

- 14-WAY DIVIDERS 14-way divider top, plus a bonus putter well that takes even the fattest grips.

- FUNCTION-FOCUSED POCKETS Dual waterproof Dry Pockets. Velour lined valuables/jewelry pocket. Insulated cooler pocket. Full-length side pockets perfect for apparel. Plus lots more!

- DESIGNED FOR A CART This cart is built to ride. Every pocket is accessible from the front, none sit behind. Velcro cart strap section allows you to easily secure the cart.

- OTHER PRACTICAL FEATURES Dual quick-grab carrying handles. Padded shoulder strap. Rainhood, External umbrella holder included. Towel buckle. Glove velcro patch, plus glove hook if you prefer to use that. Tee holders

I bought a Callaway ORG 14 cart bag last year for $179 shipped.

Plus, even if something as small as a zipper breaks in the next two years, Callaway will ship you a brand new bag. Their customer service is outstanding

I guess I'm trying to get some feedback with pros/cons of going cheap vs name brand.

The warranty was worth the money to me, and I'll forever buy Callaway bags based on their customer service. I paid $149 for a stand bag, and after 18 months or so, the mesh lining at the top of the dividers started to come lose. Purely cosmetic, but Callaway warranties everything for two years. Shipped me a brand new 2020 bag that was $70 more than I paid, and sent me a return label to just ship back the old one.

That looks like an almost exact replica of my Sun Mountain C-130 I got for Chirstmas.

I dont think there can be a 125$ difference in quality. I mean it is a bag at the end of the day

My only complaint on bags is the zippers. My callaway bag had small tight zippers that when any little amount of dirt or debris got into them you have to really work to get the zipper open. Bought a titleist bag this year and the zippers are incredibly better. As small of an issue as it seems, this is my only complaint I e had with a bag.

The Ping Traverse is 214.00 at Golf Galaxy and it is quality.

The Ping Frontier is 249.00 and has everything.

Bags like these last forever and have great warranties.

A bag like these will last a long time.

Zippers and water proof qualities would be the two biggest if factors for me with this. Unless you're really hard on your bags, I doubt it'll tear. IF zippers are worth a shite, then it's a good deal.

Here is my take on this, and it applies to far more than golf bags.

Unless the more expensive item is well outside of your price range, buy the one you want. Purchases for small items that don't last long can be done on the cheap or to save a few bucks. Things like bags that last a long time, buy the one you want, irrespective of price. You'll never look back and be thankful you got the bag you liked but didn't love just because it saved you $50. On big items like bags, etc. just buy the one you like the most. Maybe that's the cheaper bag, maybe it isn't. But it's just money, you can make more of it tomorrow.
