Anybody played Cane Row(the artist formerly known as Squirrel Run) anytime recently. Playing there Sunday and hadn’t been there in quite some time

Greens are good, but some patches are resodded/under repair. Sand is fluffy and tough. They have done a great job imo.

People are very nice and beer is cold.

Course was in better shape than the Lafayette country clubs in the late 90s early 2000s

Was absolute shite when i last played it maybe 2015ish

Nice to see its coming back

Played a few weeks ago and it was in pretty good shape considering where it's coming from.

It can be interesting navigating from hole-to-hole at times as they took out nine of the holes and "changed" the layout.

The cart paths are rough but that's to be expected since they probably hadn't been updated since Squirrel Run was built.

All-in-all it's great for what it is.

Headed there to take my kid for his first round tomorrow. Haven't played out there since before it went to shite. I'll try and remember to report on the conditions.

The course is back to its original 18 holes....
The front 9:
1,2,3 steeple
4 teebox is in the middle old steeple 4 fairway.. and 4 green was 7 steeple green.
5 was 9 steeple
6 was 3 plantation
7 was 4 plantation
8 was 8 plantation
9 was 9 plantation

The back 9 is the woods course...which is the original back 9.

4,5,6,7,8 steeple doesn't exist anymore...
5,6,7 plantation doesn't exist anymore...

Hopefully this explanation helps.....

This confused the shite out of us when we played.

We werent sure where to go when going from the third green to the 4th teebox and then werent sure exactly where the 4th green was when we finally found the 4th teebox

Other than that, I had no issues navigating the course.

I went every where trying to find 4 tee box. Course isn’t bad shape. Some spots on the fairways from the rain. Greens have some rough spots but they’re working on them. Sand traps are fluffy and tough.

I like the back 9 compared to the front 9 as well, however, the whole golf course is in great shape at this time! Do yourselves a favor and come play a round! You guys will enjoy it! Also, the beer is the coldest around and the margaritas are the best in the area!

I played like shite, but our league event was a big success this past weekend. The course was in really good shape and they took great care of us. The covered area was perfect for libations after the round. They had brought in a bunch of pizzas and only charged us like $12.00 for a whole pie. Defintely earned a spot on our regular rotation. Highly recommend a round at Cane Row to anyone looking for a place to play.
