Do you plan on living in nola after graduation? Married? Kids? How much expendable income do you have or are you willing to dip into the loan money for golf? Where do your friends play? Where do people in your future firm play?

I’m assuming Loyola or Tulane. Play at Audubon frequently. Hit balls at the north course. Every month play bayou oaks. If you’re seeing positive trends get a lesson or two and in 6 months you’ll shoot 90.

If you want an accelerant to your goal. 2:1 short game to iron practice. All your strokes will be gained/lost within 50 yards of the green or on the green.

You want to get better without taking lessons? Hit the driving range 2 hours a day. Playing on a “beginner” course doesn’t mean anything. All courses can be beginner courses. Hit the range baw.

Join a semi private course like Audobon or TPC or Bayou Oaks. I was married, going to class in person, doing extracurriculars, and working 3l year and I played a lot of golf. In your situation, I'd find a place you can pay one price and play as much as you want. You could easily play 36 a day.
