Whispering Pines hole 12. Was blocked out after my drive and had to hit a big time draw. Turned over a 6 iron from 205 to 6 feet for eagle.

Three holes in one, 6 iron, 7 iron and sand wedge. The first two were in heated money games so the pay-off was, hmmm, MONEY! But the ones that I remember more were in the heat of competition in a tournament. One was needing a birdie on the last hole, par 5, to win the championship flight. My partner was a senior, so we use his drive and ended up about 210 yards from the hole with OB right and trees left. Hit my 2 iron with a little draw and it ends up on the fringe, easy birdie. Next one is with my sister and its another par 5 but this time number 17 and I hit a 3 wood to 6 feet for eagle. We miss it but make birdie, not only win our flight but get bumped up to the next flight because we improved more than 8 shots and win third in that flight.

Holed out from around 130 yards for birdie after duffing my second shot in a par 4 to win a hole in match play.

Hit a good drive, set up perfectly and pulled up and topped it, other team talked shite, drained the next one, think it’s the only time I’ve ever holed it from over 100, a shame it wasn’t for an eagle!

In the mid 1990's, playing in the New Orleans Open, City Park West Course (Bayou Oaks now), 2nd round.

Hole #4, pulled tee shot left into the trees and was in absolute jail, hard pan lie, so bad, I can't even find a way to chip it back to the fairway. After wrestling with wtf am I going to do with this for about a minute, I look up towards the hole and see about a 6 ft wide opening maybe 40-50 ft off the ground in the branches of the trees. It is right in line with the hole.

I was about 115 yds. Took that old Ping PW and guessed at how far back in my stance to get the right trajectory to get through that opening.

Took a swing, ball came off flush, I look up and it goes right through the opening in the branches. I lose the ball so I look at the green. Ball hits right over the bunker, two hops and bites, stone cold dead, inches from the cup. Tap in birdie.

Probably could have dropped a bucket of balls and never hit that shot again.
